Nacional Re organises a conference in Barcelona on the life insurance underwriting business

On Tuesday, October 15, National Re held a technical seminar in Barcelona in collaboration with the Col·Legi D’Actuaris de Catalunya. He focused on the Life business underwriting, and it was attended by half a hundred professionals from more than 20 Spanish market entities.

In the opening session, Mr. Marcos Acosta, Head of Life & Accident & Health of the reinsurer, highlighted the company´s enthusiasm and dedication to renew and boost tools and proposals that provide a better service on the market. Next, Mr. Pedro Gargantilla, the company’s medical advisor, talked about the fundamentals of selection and took a close look at cardiac pathologies and HIV/AIDS

After the medical content, Mr. Miguel Ángel Pinilla, Risk Assessment Manager, presented the news of Davinci 3.0 (especially the cancer tool) and the projects to develop by the department in the future.

Then the two senior actuaries of the company intervened. Eduardo Folgado presented the new alternatives and opportunities which provide the new online environment and Almudena Gómez, who closed the event with a vision on the current and future trends of the Life underwriting, from an international point of view.
